I am excited about starting school this year and look forward to working with you and your child. I have been teaching school for 23 years and this is my fourth year in second grade. I have always lived in Latta and graduated from Latta High School. I went to college at Columbia College and received my Master's degree from Francis Marion University. I was a pastor for nine years from 1997 until 2006. I have been back in teaching for six years.
ANNOUNCEMENTS
Your child should bring a test folder home every week with Reading, Spelling,
and Math for Today tests. Math, Cold text, Science, or Social Studies tests will be included sometimes too. Please look at these tests. keep them at home, and record the grades in the test folder so you will know your child's grades. Send the folder back to school with your signature beside the grades. Thanks for your cooperation.
Please be sure your child brings his/her planner, books, pencils, and
RMS ( Reading, Math, Science, SS) composition book to school every day.
Ask your child if he/she needs new composition books or a new journal. Usually by April some students need new ones. Thanks for your help with this important matter.
The MEGA PARTY for the students who sold candy and have turned in all their money will be on April 20.
YEARBOOKS are still on sale until April 30th. The cost is $17.
Pupils Exercising Against Poverty ( PEAP )
Students in 2nd grade who collected money for PEAP will have a Fun Day outside on May 2. Those who collected $10 will get to participate in Fun Day. Students who collected $20 will enjoy Fun Day plus get a Fun Day t-shirt. Students who collected $30 will enjoy Fun Day, receive a t-shirt, and get to see a movie and have popcorn and a drink. In addition, all students who collected $75 or more will be entered into a drawing to win a new bike.
