2009 Summer Reading Program

Students and staff members of Latta Elementary School plan to read, read, read this summer.  Join us as we see how many pages we can read over the summer break!  PARENTS are invited to join us in this venture!

Students will be given reading logs to keep up with the number of pages/books read this summer.  Return the sheets to Ms. McKenzie at the beginning of the new school year, 2009-2010. The number of pages read will be totaled and sent to the state department for a chance for our school to WIN the MOST PAGES READ

The contest begins JUNE 1st.

 STOP THE SUMMER "SLIDE"

Summer can be a season full of fun memories, good times . . . and declining reading scores. Research shows that students who dont read over the summer typically score lower on reading tests when they return to school. Whats the solution? Its simple: READ 4 or MORE!
