SCHOOL SECURITY
In response to recent national and state discussions regarding school security, Dillon County Sheriff Major Hulon is providing the services of a deputy
being on the campus of Latta Early Childhood Center and Latta Elementary School during school time for the rest of this school year. The sheriff’s department is funding this entirely in this temporary plan for the rest of this year.
Sheriff Hulon, Representative Jackie Hayes, and school officials are seeking ways to permanently fund security services on all school campus sites in the county. I would encourage you to contact Sheriff Hulon and thank him for this service. And I would encourage you to contact Representative Jackie Hayes, Representative Wayne George, Senator Kent Williams, and the Dillon County Council members to support permanent funding for security services in our schools.
~Dr. John Kirby, Superintendent of Dillon School District 3
